In fact it creates a vacuum for the turbo to spin freely in. The only turbos i know of that you can draw through are the old rajay and aireasearch which use a carbon seal and were designed for draw through.i have a draw through martin kit which uses a rajay 3aa1ee90b1 turbo and by itself will top out at about 425 at the flywheel.but i'm saving it for a truck since all you need for that kind of hp these. The turbo has to work harder to pump air and fuel through the compressor housing.

Draw thru turbos can be reliable if set up right; The wastegate is a 38mm with a 12psi spring in it. No one makes a new turbo with a carbon seal. Not good for cold conditions. The only reason to try a draw thru is because the carburetor doesnt have to be anything special.but there is minimal modifications needed really.

Rajay turbo sbc stuff i picked up at yard sale if it were me i'd go blowthrough since you don't have the wierd splitter thingie that goes under the carb.you can buy a hat at autozone for about $79 and get a cheap blowoff valve from ebay, they work fine mine is 2+years old and keeps on hammering along. Typical.
